Why I take photographs

“I make photographs because I don't know how else to say what I mean.”

My artistic practice focuses on using photography and everyday objects to explore emotions, memories, and personal experiences. I am especially drawn to still-life photography because ordinary objects can hold meaning beyond what we see on the surface. An object can remind us of a person, a place, a specific moment, or a feeling, even when the memory itself is difficult to describe. I use composition, lighting, color, texture, and the arrangement of objects to create photographs that feel personal and intentional. I am interested in taking objects that might normally be overlooked and presenting them in a way that encourages the viewer to slow down and find their own meaning in the image. My work is about finding stories within everyday things and showing how something simple can represent a much larger emotion or experience. I want my photographs to feel relatable while still leaving room for the viewer to create their own interpretation. Ultimately, I hope my work shows that meaningful moments and memories can exist within the ordinary objects that surround us every day.
